1. Reference your letter, 318FIS/5304, subject Unidentified Flying Object Report, dated 25 August 1965. Request information regarding the photographs taken by Mr Stafford on the night of 18 August 1965.

2. Initial report indicates that objects were visible for 1 hour and 40 minutes and that the weather was overcast with light rain and visibility of 4 - 5 miles. Request information as to the width of Lake Tappas and the distance from the observer to the town of Buckley, Washin

SUBJECT: Unidentified Flying Object Report

TO: AFSC (FTD)
Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio 45433

1. The following information is submitted concerning sighting of an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) on 19 August 1965.

a. Description of the object:
(1) Round.
(2) Size of a quarter coin held at arm's length.
(3) Color varied from orange (ground) to white (sky).
(4) Four (4) objects.
(

(4) Rose from tree level to high above the horizon at disappearance.
(5) Apparently rose rapidly from near ground level to high altitude and disappeared, no directional change.
(6) Objects visible for one (1) hour and forty (40) minutes.

c. Manner of observation:
(1) Ground-visual observation.
(2) Binoculars were used, but proved to be less efficient than naked eye.

d. Time and date of sighting:
(1) 0430Z on 19 August 1965.
(2) Night, no moonlight.
(3) The observers were located approximately 48 12N, 123 20W, on the East side of Lake Tappe looking towards Buckley, Washington.

(4) Visibility was four (4) miles during period to five (5) miles at 0600Z.

(5) Overcast with light rain at 0430Z to a drizzle at 0520Z.

(6) There were no thunderstorms in the area.
