29/26391 FEB 1968 Note: Have requested full-scale investigation of both HQ AIS and local commander (genuine A&B). Also, a check of the A&B and immediate conference, telephone. In Limpopo, 26 Feb. 1956. Will carry this case against USM for the investigation. AtIC Comment: 1. Majority of reports showing UFO having blinking or retiring lights (I.P.) are found to be aircraft. However, Cintraffic check here (IS) rules this out apparently. 2. Hearing, erratic course, and in sight for almost 4 1/2 hours in same locality is definitely a well-known balloon characterist. However, wind plots …

Brief - Newfoundland Lighting 25 February 1958 1. Upon review of all available data it becomes apparent that this case involves a. Gross exaggerations for publicity purposes. b. Mistaken identification of conventional objects i.e. (1) Red light from some vehicle (2) Star, see through adverse atmospheric conditions 2. Gross reference with respect to specific sources involved: 1a. M. Prime source 1b. M. (1) 1c. Flying officer (2) 3. The three (3) separately seen sightings apparently were not related, and possibly influenced the others. 4. However, there were four (4) radar sightings plotted …

The object was sighted as being south-east of Candar, and this fact makes it apparent that this sighting was also not the same as . But the fact exists, that Eyebrow had four unidentified plots at about that time on an object approximately at 2000 feet. reported two different sightings, the first at 25/0410Z and the second at 26/0405Z, and the position of both sightings was the sam…
