as ga * ' wot _ 19 April 1953 Calumet, Michigan I. DESCRIPTION On <0 April 1953 between 01162 and 02152 a series of targets were sighted by the 665th AC&W Squadron, Calumet, Michigan. The plote originated approxi- mately 50 miles from their station, from 050 clockwise to 251°. Speed was from 1800 mph to 8400 mph. Thies sighting was a rader sighting only and appeared es a normal target except for speed. Nd abrupt maneuvers were noted. Several individual targets were noted. This squadron was using an AN/FPS-3 type search radar unit, with a Thyratron modulator. There had been no maintenance diffi…
