MRB Dec 29-49 Comm. Officer Air Materiel Commanding Washington D.C. Dear Sir: I just finished reading an article by Donald E. Keyhoe in Jan. 1950 issue of True Magazine. The title of the article is "The Flying Saucers Are Real". He requests any sight of a flying saucer, be reported to your office. Although at this time, I realize my report will do little else, I thought to verify whether, what others have seen.

I reside 5 miles northwest of Rockford, Ill. There is a small airfield to the South of our house, the North-South runway about 500 ft. East of us and about 2500 ft. South. and I were at work on our garden and occasionally, I would look up to see a plane take off into the wind, and it was at one of those times that I sighted the object, flying due east in a straight

Course, despite a stiff crew wind. It was round, sole yellow, flying in a vertical, Adjacent position, at a proximity to the S.E. Elevation, and about the speed of a passenger, liner, many of which pass over our house every day and night.
