Dept of Air Force
Washington D.C.

Dear Sir,

On this day, at 7:25 PM I noticed a light which at first took like a star, but it flashed from red to white, and back.

I was at a position of about 840.

It moved west for about 5 minutes, and then slowly headed north for about 30 seconds. Then I started west again. Then it disappeared in a flash.

It couldn't have been a balloon for the wind was from the west.

It couldn't have been a battlitre, because they don't move into the west.

Can you tell me what it was?

Sincerely
