Nov 64 Carmichael, Pa Phys Spec: Chaff (Radar) OFFICIAL FILE COPY FTD (TDEW) Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio 45433 29 January 1965 Carmichaels, Pennsylvania 15320 Dear M: Thank you for your letter of 26 January 1965 and the box with the "batches" of material. The material which you found and sent to me is "Radar Chaff". This material is dropped by military aircraft in the vicinity of a radar station. This is done to confuse the Radar Operators so that they can penetrate the Radar Defense. Evidently, they must have had a radar exercise in your area and the wind must have blown the material onto…

Jan 26 - 65 In Nov. of 1964 while hunting small game we noticed several "batches" of this same material scattered over a wide area of our farm. I have kept this since then wondering where to send it.
