1. At approximately 0900 hours on 14 January 1953, Andrew J. REID, Chief Agent, O2, Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, directed William L. McKELVEY, Agent, O2, to interview 1301st ASU, Fireman, Post Fire Department; 21st Student Co.; and 1301st Medical Detachment, in reference to an unidentified object or aircraft.

Sgt. [redacted] also stated that the object looked to him like a ball of fire, yellow in color, and proceeding at a steady speed in the direction of New York City, and disappeared in the distance at approximately 1746 hours, 13 January 1953.

He further stated that he did not think it was a jet plane, due to the fact that he could hear no sound emanating from the object.
