Dear Dr. Hynek:

We have been receiving your comments and evaluations on the wires we have been sending you week by week and they have been very helpful, to say the least. We were gratified to find that you explain many recent sightings by the presence of Venus because we have been evaluating many as astronomical or Venus ourselves, and, as you stated in your last letter, corroboration of this sort is good. I can't fathom why so many apparently experienced sources such as pilots and control tower operators are fooled by Venus, but I can see why it may fool inexperienced ones.
