Mr. [redacted], telephonically contacted this office on 4 February 1953 to report that he has observed a "flying saucer" in Guatemala, Central America, and desired to turn over his notes concerning the incident. 2. On 5 February 1953, the writer interviewed Mr. [redacted] in Room [redacted] of the Savoy Plaza Hotel, Fifth Avenue and 58th Street. He based this estimate upon a field expedient, with which he was thoroughly conversant, of observing the object through a formed operative obtained by clenching his right hand into a loose fist. then showed the writer this field expedient and the writer observed the aperture formed by little finger to be approximately 1/2 of an inch in diameter.
