SUBJECT: UFO Sighting 28 July 1959

TO: SAFIS-3

1. Request your office forward three copies of ATIC Form #164 to Mr. [redacted], Berea, Kentucky. Request that he forward one copy to his sister, [redacted], the other two to be filled in by the two individuals who were with [redacted] when she saw an UFO.

2. The above is the only address given to the ATIC. However, Berea has less than 3,000 population, and in all probability has one central post office.

Dear Mr. [redacted]:

In response to your recent report of an Unidentified Flying Object, I am inclosing three copies of the Air Force questionnaire to be completed by your sister, Mrs. [redacted], and the other two persons who witnessed the UFO with her.

Upon completion of the form, please forward direct to the Air Technical Intelligence Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, for analysis and evaluation.

MRS. WHILE VACATIONING WITH HER BROTHER MR. OF BERIA, KENTUCKY NOTED 8 OBJECTS IN THE SKY NORTH OF THE HOUSE. THE OBJECTS WERE SLIGHTLY LARGER THAN STARS. BUT OF THE SAME COLOR BUT BRIGHTER. THE OBJECTS WERE FIRST SIGHTED AT 01:15 LOCAL TIME, THEY APPEARED TO MOVE SLOWLY AT FIRST THEN VERY FAST THEN SLOWLY AGAIN. (OVER)

TO SOUTH. THEY WERE VIEWED BY
THREE PERSONS FOR A PERIOD ESTIMATED BY
MRS. [REDACTED] TO BE FROM 5 TO TEN MINUTES.
MRS. [REDACTED] SEEMED TO BE QUITE EXCITED
AND CONCERNED. THE AREA IS A RURAL
AREA AND VERY QUIET - NO NOISE OR
UNSUAL SMELLS WERE NOTED. TWO OF THE
LINE ABREAST OBJECTS ALMOST COLLIDED.
