1. Under the provisions of Paragraph 15, AFR 200-2, the following report of an unidentified flying object sighting is hereby submitted:

a. Description of the object:
(1) Oval
(2) Grapefruit
(3) Orange light
(4) One

b. Description of course of object:
(1) The object just appeared and

(4) At first the object appeared to be stationery, then it started to move in a westerly heading and grew smaller then larger in size.

(5) The object just vanished.

(6) The object was visible for approximately five minutes.

Preliminary analysis of the possible cause of the sighting
indicated two possibilities: A check of the air traffic flying
in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area indicates that the
observer may have seen jet exhaust of an aircraft climbing out
after takeoff and

could have caused a reflection on the clouds. Since the cloud cover was broken the light reflection could have given the observer the orange light and size and shape of the object. No further information is available at this time.
