AF Colonel

Three lights, one red and two white, similar to age ranking lights were sighted at about 20° elevation. Objects traveled a straight path inclining about 45° to horizon going toward. Sound was an irregular sputtering.

1. It is believed that objects have been an eye although no reports reported in area.

Report of sighting as submitted by Colonel [redacted], USAF, during interview with Major Fournet on 21 July 1952:

(a) Three lights, one red and two white, appearing to be traveling in same vertical plane and in fixed formation. Appearance as follows:

All objects same size with diam est = .015 - .020x. Estimates that a circle with diam = 2 1/2 diam of dime at arm's length would cover the three objects. Objects seemed to be low intensity diffused light source similar to a/c running lights; did not blink. Other lights, very much dimme

(e) Observed with naked eye.

(f) Observer reports no moon or clouds but slight overcast at "high altitude."

(g) Besides observer, his wife witnessed incident and agrees with all details except description of lower light which she remembers as orange instead of red. Wife actually saw object shortly before Col Begg first observed it.

(h) Col [redacted] reported incident to USAF Command Post immediately after sighting, but states that they evinced no interest in report.

(i) No a/c observed in area at time of sighting; no other unusual activity noted.
