1. Reference your letter, TDEW/UFO, subject, UFO Sightings, 26 Sep 65, dated 7 Oct 65.

2. Further investigation with the Detroit Air Defense Sector reveals they made positive radar identification of the reported object as a SAC EC-135. No UFO was observed on their scopes.

1. Reference your letter, 840CBG (DO), subject, Unidentified Flying Object, dated 4 Sep 65. The unidentified object reports of 26 Sep 65 indicate that the object was probably an aircraft.

2. Captain Thomas A Doonan's statement indicated that there was radar information pertaining to this sighting available from the Detroit Air Defense Sector. Specifically we desire to know if the track of the object and the C-47, diverted for identification, were on the scope at the sam

In accordance with AFR 200-2, 20 Jul 62 as amended, the following written Unidentified Flying Object Report is submitted.

a. Description of the Object: (Ref para 14a)
(1) Shape - Spherical.
(2) Size - Pea to Silver Dollar.
(3) Color - White.
(4) Number - One.
(5) Formation - N/A.
(6) Detail features - No navigation lights and color faded at times.
(7) Tail

(3) Angle or elevation and azimuth on disappearance 45° elevation at 315°.

(4) Description of flight path: Travelled in an arc from Southwest to Northwest.

(5) Object disappearance: Slowly to the Northwest.

(6) Duration object was visible: 3 to 5 minutes.

c. Manner of Observation:

(1) Ground - Visual.

(2) Air - Visual.

(3) Ground-electronic (Detroit Air Defense Sector, Custer AFB, Michigan).

(4) M-16, 7x50 power binoculars were used by tower personnel.

(5) Aircraft sighting was made by C-47, SN51074, at 2000', MSL. 120K IAS, based at Lockbourne AFB, Ohio.
