1. The attached report is submitted in accordance with the requirements of Air Force Regulation 200-2, 12 August 1954.

Unidentified Flying Object

26 November 1957

Utilizing the format specified in paragraph 7d, AFR 200-2, the
following report of sighting of an Unidentified Flying Object is
submitted:

1. Description of Object.
a. Round.
b. Size of golf ball, tennis ball. ← Thin Strangly supports & balloon.
c. "Reddish" orange.
d. One
e. N/A.
f. Round in shape.
g. None.
h. None.
i. None.

2. Description of Course of Object.
a. Happenstance.

a. At south end of Building T-3-189 in Area 3 on Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

6. Identifying Information of Observer.
a. A/3C Ronald W. Rioux, AF11337012.
A/3C Gareth L. Colay, AF10112155.
Each student airman with 3-1/2 months in service.
A/1C Meeks, Tactical Instructor in Communications School, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

These students were on way to class in a flight of approximately 40 airmen. All of them supposedly saw this unidentified object. However, it was not reported until several hours later.

An unusually bright clear night. No sightings by any of our radar units, or by our control tower attendants.

12. Physical Evidence.
a. None.

A check with balloon schedule show all balloons are released at 0800 locations. The wind velocities are such it would not have moved very far until it got up to a fairly high altitude.

The observers no doubt saw a balloon with lights.
