2. On 25 October 1940, Colonel JAMES H. MC HITT, Commanding Officer, 505th Aircraft Control and Warning Group, Silver Lake, Washington, was interviewed and information was requested as to whether or not any unidentified aircraft had been detected in the vicinity of Gold Beach, Oregon, on 24 May 1949.
