On 8 August 1949, Mrs. [redacted] Gold Beach, Oregon, was interviewed and advised that at approximately 1700 hours, 24 May 1949, she and four other persons, while fishing on the Rogue River near Elephant Rock approximately 1 1/2 miles above the highway bridge near Gold Beach, Oregon, sighted an object described as being round in shape, silver in color, and about the size of a C-47 aircraft. 1. Special Agent ANDREW LAKE conducted this portion of the Investigation.

AT SILVER LAKE, WASHINGTON

2. On 25 October 1940, Colonel JAMES H. MC HITT, Commanding Officer, 505th Aircraft Control and Warning Group, Silver Lake, Washington, was interviewed and information was requested as to whether or not any unidentified aircraft had been detected in the vicinity of Gold Beach, Oregon, on 24 May 1949. Colonel MC HITT informed this agent that the area in question was not covered by the 505th Aircraft Control and Warning Group net and, in fact, is not under
