1. This information constitutes the follow-up and complete report of a UFO reported by 384BCOI message 7-4867, 27 July 1964.

2. Report:

a. Description of Object:
(1) Oval or egg shape.
(2) Dime.
(3) Luminous.
(4) One - which subsequently appeared to break in two with one of these parts a

(5) Disappeared suddenly after seemingly moving slowly to . . .
(6) Object was visible for five (5) minutes.

c. Manner of observation:
(1) Ground-visual.
(2) Observer was using seven (7) power binoculars with a
50mm lenses.
(3) Not applicable.

d. Time and date of sighting:
(1) 0030 to 0035 zulu, 25 July 1964.
(2) Day.

e. Location of observer: In the back yard of his home located in
the community of Lakewood, Arkansas which lies approximately 10 statute
air miles SW of Little Rock Air Force Base.

f. Identifying information on observer:
(1) , 35, engineer by training and currently

object. But prior to calling me he had called a friend who worked for the U.S. Weather Bureau in Little Rock to ask about their weather ballons. He was advised they release one at 2300 aulu each day and he now thought that may have been what he had seen previously. I called the Weather Bureau to confirm this fact. Upon secondary analysis, using the winds aloft report cited in my message, it is believed that the object was, in fact, a meteorological ballon which had been released from Adams Field located SW of the observer's position. THIS TIME. (K) CHIEF INTELLIGENCE DIVISION 384TH BWG. INITIAL ASSESSMENT IS THAT THE SUNLIGHT REFLECTING OFF THE AIRCRAFT CAUSED A PHENOMANA THAT APPEARED TO THE OBESERVER A SOLID OBJECT AT FIRST, AND THE OBJECT APPEARING TO BREAK-UP WAS CAUSED BY SUN STRIKING AIRCRAFT AT DIFFERENT ANGLES THUS CAUSING TWO REFLECTIONS RATHER THAT THE ONE.
