A wave of sightings in New Mexico and near El Paso, Texas, caused headlines in many newspapers late last September. The most widely publicized of the sightings occurred on September 25th and concerned a green light seen at Las Cruces N. M. and elsewhere. A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Agency stated that their instruments indicated the UFO was 37 miles above the earth. On September 26 a large saucer-shaped object was reported circling near Woodlands, Invercargill, New Zealand; a luminous oval-shaped machine was sighted at Gumana, Venezuela, and four dark rotating objects were seen with a telescope as they moved across the face of the Moon by observers at Seattle, Washington.
