1. Observations noted from B-29 aircraft 1723, at 24°00'N - 85°20'W, while flying a course of 260°, time 2325 EST, 12 January 1950, weather clear above an under-cast, three objects were noted on the radar scope orbiting B-29 1723 from all quadrants. Objects were noticed by Radar Operator, Aircraft Commander, Navigator and Bombardier. The object was first sighted on a bearing of 330° traveling South. The object travelle

DETAILS:

1. This investigation predicated upon a directive (AFCSI Letter No. 85) dated 12 August 1949, to report all sightings of unidentified flying objects.

AT HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, NEW MEXICO

2. [redacted], 3024th Air Police Squadron, Holloman Air Force Base, was interviewed on 13 January 1950 concerning his sighting of an unusual aerial phenomenon and the following information was obtained:

a. Date of sighting: 13 January 1950.
b. Time of sighting: 0605 hours 13 January 1950, at which time the object was in the same general vicinity in the sky as one sighted the evening

i. Direction of flight: Observer did not keep object in sight
long enough to determine overall movement
of the object. When sighted at
0605 on 13 January, the object had
moved to the east a small number of
degrees beyond the point where it was
observed at 1900 the previous evening,
(24-8)-15. Object moved erratically
up, down, to the right, and to the
left in its general path of movement
from east to west.

j. Tactics or maneuvers: Object traversed a predominately level
path; changes in altitude were comparatively
minute and erratic.
