The following are excerpts taken from the dispatcher's log for 6 and 7 Dec 63: "... 6 Dec 63 1710Z RAPOC reported an unidentified object heading northwest at 400' turning final on RM 23 with a ground speed of 40-50 MPH. 1805Z Col Sulloway notified of status to date. He advised to stop the check list and have Major Larose form a convoy and search the area. Major Larose was notified. 1843Z Capt Sain of LFOUVX called and asked to be kept advised. 1855Z Major Larose arrived and took charge. 2110Z Major Larose and party terminated ground search with negative results. Radar operators who observed the incident were SSgt D. R. Faire and TSgt A. Rubick.
