1. The attached report and tape recording of a reported UFO sighting was forwarded to this office on 5 April 1966 from the Office of Information at Vance AFB, Oklahoma. (See Atch 1).

2. Our base was nearest to the location of the sighting and the responsibility of reporting is ours. No further investigation other than that…

SUBJECT: Report of UFO

1. The following information is submitted as required in paragraph 14, AFR 200-2:

a. Description of the Object:

(1) Shape: Round.

(2) Size compared to a known object: Wider than an asphalt road, two lane.

(3) Color: Greenish ball of fire.

(4) Number: One (1).

(5) Formation, if more than one: Solo.

(6) Any discernible features or details: Round ball of fire.

(7) Tail, trail, or exhaust, including size of same compared to size of object: No mention of tail, trail or exhaust.

(8) Sound; if heard, describe sound: The object made a screeching, h…

object disappearing over the hill he had just traveled. His automobile speed was approximately 50 m.p.h. and the car coasted down to the bottom of the hill.

(4) Description of flight path and maneuvers of object: Object was traveling straight and level, from south to north.

(5) How did the object disappear: Over the hill, towards the north.

(6) How long was the object visible: Probably less than 30 seconds.

c. Manner of Observation:

(1) Ground Visual.

(2) Optical aids used and description thereof: None.

(3) If sighting occurred while air-borne, give type of aircraft, etc: Not applicable…
