MEMO FOR RECORD 28 Sept 71 Recovery Report - H71-38 1. On 25 September 1971 at 1220 Mr Blankenship and MSgt Trobaugh departed Holloman AFB, NM with a 5 ton wrecker and a 1 ton pickup to recover flight number H71-38. 2. The NASA people (Dave Grolemund & Jack Bufton) caught up with us at the Apache Summit about 50 miles north east of Holloman AFB. 3. The observers aboard the mission aircraft sighted the ground party 17 miles north of Tinnie, NM. Off of highway 70. From this point on the aircraft observers led the ground crew over ranch roads and trails to the impact site which was about 45 miles…
