Reference is made to the recent UFO report which you submitted to the Air Force for evaluation.

Your observation has all the characteristics of an observation of the moon due to refraction. Since the moon was not reported as being visible and all other data presented is consistent with an observation of the moon, the object which you observed is regarded by the Air Force as the moon.

The reported position of the object was just above the trees to the southwest. The moon was sitting in this approximate position at the time of the sighting. The moon was at fir
