19 Sept 1953 ATLANTIC Hydrographic Bulletin AURORA BOREALIS NORTH ATLANTIC Mr. K. H. Wehlitz aboard the Panamanian SS. Italia, Capt. P. Thormoehlen, Master, reports that between 0700 G. M. T. and 0730 G. M. T., September 19, 1953, in approximate position 45°08' N., 61°12' W., northern lights were observed from 330° to 360° and to an altitude of 40°.
