SUBJECT: Sighting of Unconventional Aircraft

TO: Commanding General
Air Materiel Command
Wright-Patterson Base
Dayton, Ohio

In compliance with request contained in TWX EDC 206 your Headquarters, dated 16 June 1949, the following information is submitted according to the requirements outlined in AF Memorandum #4, dated 15 February 1949:

A. GENERAL
1. Date of sighting - 7 June 1949.
2. Time of sighting - 1210 EDST.
3. Where sighted - In front

11. There was no evidence of exhaust of any kind.
12. It was a clear day with very few clouds. The object did not penetrate into nor fly near any clouds. Nor was it reflected on any clouds.
13. There were no visible lights.
14. There were no wings or other visible support of any kind, but the object could have been a rotating cylinder of some type.
15. The method of propulsion could not be determined from the observer's position.
16. The observer was unable to determine any facts regarding control and stability such as fins, stabilizers, etc.
17. There were no visible air ducts.

8. a. First time that he had ever sighted an object of this type going at such a speed.

b. Attention was drawn to object by the fact that a large plane happened to be passing at the same time at a lower altitude.

9. There were no other witnesses to the sighting.

10. The observer gave evidence of being a person of excellent character with a high degree of intelligence.
