On 10 December 1959, you inquired in behalf of Mr. of Terra Haute, Indiana, concerning unidentified flying objects on 15 October 1959 in that vicinity.

The United States has no record of the Terra Haute, Indiana, sightings of 15 October 1959. These sightings have never been reported to the Air Force, and therefore, no official explanation is available.

Congressional Inquiry of UFO by Congressman

Information submitted by [redacted], President of Research and Education Committee on Aerial Phenomena, known as RECAP.

On 15 October 1959, at Terre Haute, Ind., at 6:10, [redacted] President of RECAP, saw a white light almost overhead, about the size of Saturn, and about the size of a pea at arm's length.

About 6:45 several people saw red lights south of Terre Haute.

6:45 to 6:50 [redacted] an saw two big, green balls of fire approaching him at Crawfordsville, Ind. He maneuvered away from them, they reversed course and sped away out of sight.
