Dear Sir:

Enclosed are two negatives of two stars taken at the request of the
East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Dept. Each exposure was 30 seconds taken at
the prime focus of the 11½ inch refractor here. The two stars are alpha
Auriga and alpha Orionis. The exposure of α Orionis was taken at 0910 U.T.
(0310 C.S.T.) and α Auriga at 0914 (0314). The film used was Super Panchro

TWO F-102'S WERE SCRAMBLED FROM NEW ORLEANS. THEY PATROLLED THE
BATON ROUGE AREA AND WERE VECTORED TO THE UFO BY THE RYAN TOWER
OPERATOR. THEY MADE NO VISUAL OR RADAR SIGHTING EXCEPT FOR
DIFFUSED STARS THROUGH A HAZE LAYER. THE SAME F-102'S WERE
SCRAMBLED AGAIN AT 0730Z TO IN

1. The negatives and two copies of the Stars Capella and Betelgeux are being forwarded to your organization for return to Mr. Since these objects were identified and photographed as known objects, no analysis was performed.

2. These photographs assisted in confirmation of previous reports of visual observations on the nights of 14 and 15 Sep 64 in the Baton Rouge area as these two stars.
