At approximately 1900 hours 28 Sep 52 I was returning to the operations building from the latrine when I observed a deep red object in the sky about 25° above the horizon. I estimated it to be about 10 miles from the station at an azimuth of 240°. I at first (thought it was star) so I went into operations building.
