Narrative

Major Allan R. Packer and 1st Lt. Douglas S. Myers, flying an ANG F-94 jet at 20,000 feet at 290 knots, encountered the object on a head-on pass from the 12 o'clock position. The object countered all break-and-turn reverses, outturning and outclimbing the jet with great bursts of speed, climbing to 35,000 feet. It appeared able to maintain contact with the observer aircraft despite the aircraft operating with lights off. Engaged 21:07Z to 21:35Z. The reporting officer had no logical explanation for the phenomenon.
