Narrative

On 23 May 1955 at 2325 local near Elyria, Ohio, a civilian observer reported a single cigar-shaped black object the size of a B-47 traveling very high heading east in a straight pattern. Observation was visual for 3 seconds. Local commercial air traffic was in the vicinity; the position of sighting was in a heavy air traffic area. Preparing officer Capt Roy W Anderson assessed object as believed to be commercial aircraft.
