Narrative

At 1751Z on 4 December 1954, a Marine Captain pilot (age 29, 2200 single-engine flying hours, materiel officer and pilot with Marine Aircraft Group 14 Auxiliary Landing Field) sighted an unidentified flying object near Edenton, North Carolina. An air crewman also witnessed the object. Weather and balloon data from Edenton, Norfolk, and Langley AFB were collected. Princeton University Observatory provided an opinion. The case was investigated by Flight 2-H, 4602d AISS.
