Narrative

On 25 January 1955 at 0130Z, a civilian observer near Selfridge AFB reported a round bright red object stationary at 26 degrees elevation, 330 degrees azimuth, observed for three hours. AISS investigators including Lt Cunnion, M/Sgt Pagos, and A/2C Beilfuss determined the object was a bright red marker light on top of a 50-foot radio antenna located about 400 yards NW of the observer, producing an optical illusion until viewed through binoculars.
