At 0633Z on 1 May 1956 at night, an observer at Tacoma, Washington saw a slim object 2x wide 10 long with red lights on each end, possibly with two engines (described as possibly piston-driven). Object moved east, turned north, out of sight in 3 minutes. Observed via ground visual under high clouds. Concluded probably aircraft due to duration, sound, and lights.
