At 0523Z (2308 CST) on 16 June 1955, Tiger Air Lines flight 4 reported a whitish-blue object approximately 40 miles NE of Springfield, Missouri, traveling northeast and apparently descending at high speed. No visible lights or markings, and the pilots specifically noted that it did not look like a meteor. Weather clear with 15 mile visibility, winds aloft known. Report passed via St. Louis ARTC.
