Narrative

On 23 January 1956 at 0025Z, an Eastern Air Lines pilot near Miami, Florida and an observer near St. Petersburg (~200 miles apart) independently reported a round bluish-white object with a small tail resembling a comet. The object travelled in a straight line from southwest before passing out of sight. The reporting officer concluded the sighting was astronomical, generated by a meteor.
