Narrative
At 0330Z on 17 July 1956, two families in Puyallup, Washington observed an oval object, red on one side and winged. The object was motionless, then faded from sight; duration was indefinite. The object was observed both visually and with binoculars at approximately 1800 PST. The 4602D AISS definitively identified the object as a weather balloon released at the Tacoma-Seattle Airport 30 minutes before the sighting.
