EP 139487 / EP 136892 / EP 140605 (Soviet POW source reports) — 1953-08-15 — Over Volga River near Stalingrad (51°45'N 45°E), USSR
Narrative
Multiple German repatriate sources reported aerial phenomena over the Volga River near Stalingrad observed between winter 1951/52 and October 1953. One source described a large sodium-yellow star-like object holding position high over the Volga for several minutes during night observations in July through September 1953; a smaller white ball then approached it from the southwest, contacted it, and both vanished simultaneously without sound or detonation. Other sources from POW Camp 7362 and a PW hospital in Stalingrad reported disc-shaped objects reflecting white-and-red light traveling at tremendous speeds and disappearing within seconds during 1952-1953. Sources could not provide explanations.
