INT-8-43 — 1956-08-05 — Carrollton, Ohio (JL 5330)
Narrative
At 0407Z on 5 August 1956, Dr. and Mrs. [name redacted], amateur astronomers in Carrollton, Ohio, observed a cigar-shaped object 22 feet long, silver changing to blue with glowing red fringe and a humming sound. The object moved up and down and back and forth, heading northwest at 2-3 angels altitude (2,000-3,000 ft), in sight for 20 minutes. Witnesses claimed to have seen the object on past 2 nights also. Phone calls to ATIC for astronomical and balloon track information showed no possibility for the sighting in that area. No aircraft tracks or flight plans existed for the area at the time.
