Narrative

At 0203Z on 20 August 1955, six observers in a car approximately 1 mile north of Calumet, Michigan, saw a cigar-shaped green fluorescent object with sparks coming out behind it, moving northerly direction. Estimated 500 feet above terrain. Clear night, no sound. Observed for 3-4 seconds and disappeared behind trees. Report delayed three days due to passage through GOC. Possibly astronomical (meteor) based on duration, color, and trail of sparks.
