Narrative

At 0830Z 18 April 1956 vicinity of McChord AFB WA, observer noted through windshield of auto a round white grapefruit-sized object circling at -45 degrees elevation. Object was behind trees after 3 minutes. Initially one, later three objects in vee formation. A C-124 was making left and right landing patterns at McChord at the time and had landing lights on. Conclusion: probably aircraft landing lights.
