Narrative

On 13 October 1955 (full moon night, no thunderstorms), an amateur astronomer in Kew Gardens, New York observed a circular object emitting a peculiar bright shining light, characterized as 'not a star.' The object stood still for half an hour then moved up and north, disappearing northward. Total observation time was one hour. Telescope and compass were used in the observation. The report was passed third-hand through the CAA at Idlewild. The 26th Air Division forwarded to Flight 3-H of 4602d AISS for further action.
