Narrative

On 7 April 1955 at 0345Z, a 13-year-old schoolboy in Beaumont, California observed a single round silver-dollar-sized red and white object via ground visual. Object moved straight and faded gradually over approximately two minutes. Reported via 678th ACWRON SPEDRO. Headquarters concluded the sighting's azimuth corresponded to direction of a rotating airway navigation beacon whose red-and-white color matched the description; conclusion was probably astronomical (i.e., misidentification of beacon).
