Narrative
At 2320Z on 26 December 1956, observers (a 29-year-old USAF Security Service member on military leave from Kelly AFS, Texas, and another observer) sighted an egg-shaped object near DeFuniak Springs, Florida. The object was initially stationary at 30 degrees elevation, 135 degrees azimuth, about 4-5 miles from the observers, at altitude 500'-1000'. It moved due east about 400 yards instantaneously at unmeasurable speed, was stationary for a minute, then moved west much slower with the bright light turning off and a red light blinking in an intermittent and irregular fashion until out of sight. Duration 15-25 minutes; weather clear and calm.
