Narrative
On 1 July 1955 at 1910Z (day), Captain Robert Skinner of the 413th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, flying an F-86D at 32,200 ft and 400 knots from Travis AFB, observed a silver object from his airborne aircraft. The object appeared to fall straight downward from another aircraft at 20 degrees from the aircraft. The observation lasted about one minute. Radar contact was made at the same time. No indication of an explosion when object reached ground. Conclusion: Possibility of weather balloon, punctured and falling to ground.
