On 11 August 1952 at approximately 2300 local at Tempelhof Air Base, Berlin, the Fire Department called the Control Tower reporting strange sights south of the tower. Tower personnel including A/3c James C. Ray saw three oval bright objects spinning with rough edges; one was a plainer flat-spinning mass that hung stationary briefly then disappeared left and down at great speed. A/3c James Christodolou had seen an earlier object at 2115 local. A/3c Wenzel saw four objects flying east, returning later flying west with one climbing upward and disappearing. Objects estimated 10-15 miles away over buildings southwest of base. No sound; altitude undetermined.
