Outdoor observer in Houston, Texas observed a bright light at 30 degrees elevation, 135 degrees azimuth, moving slowly from SE at 40-degree elevation to south at 60-degree elevation. Object estimated approximately one mile from observer. Object did not disappear; observers stopped looking after 40 minutes. Observed via ground visual and 2x8 power binoculars. Reported at 0715Z OCT (year inferred 1955). Weather clear with slight breeze. Radar facilities, weather stations and control towers in area checked with negative results. Conclusion: no analysis possible due to lack of supporting evidence.
