Narrative

At 2122Z on 27 September 1954, the pilot of a Martin 404 aircraft enroute from Washington DC to Newark, NJ, approximately 10 miles south of Philadelphia, PA, observed a bright circular object moving southwest at high speed between 15,000 and 20,000 feet. Object observed for four minutes while the aircraft was cruising at 11,000 feet at 082 degrees track. Report received from Mr. Anderson, controller Washington ARTC.
