Narrative

At approximately 1930 on 30 September 1953, Mr. Paul Cooper of Silver Springs, Maryland saw a spheroid-shaped silver object approximately 6 to 8 feet in diameter while coming out of his home. The object appeared to glide at about 300 feet over a house across the street, paralleling Colesville Road in a southwest direction, and seemed to land in an adjacent golf course (The Indian Spring Country Club). The object gave off no light though it was very bright, and was visible for about 10 seconds. Investigation found that a meteor was seen by persons in the general vicinity at approximately the same time, deemed the only plausible explanation.
