On 28 July 1956 at 0430Z, an observer in Brooklyn, New York reported a single pink-orange object directly overhead at 5 degrees angle, heading north-northwest at an estimated 400 knots. Accompanied by a whistle sound (not jet). Reported via 26th Air Division Defense at Roslyn AFB. 1st Lt John F. Curry, CIC Duty Officer, concluded the observer probably saw and heard a turbo-prop aircraft flying out of Idlewild Airport.
