Around 0433Z, 0455Z, and 0500Z, a North Arlington, Virginia, housewife observed a single round, pea-sized yellowish-white object three different times for a few seconds each. The object moved unusually fast across the sky from 45 degrees elevation southeast, lowering to 20 degrees south before disappearing behind a cloudbank. Weather: clear with cloudbank in south. Major R.C. Dornbrock, AFOIN Duty Officer at Andrews AFB, concluded that observer probably saw afterburner flames during jet let-downs or steady white light under fuselage; jets at Andrews AFB during the observation period exceeded 500 mph.
