Narrative
On the night of 2 August 1960 at approximately 2203 hours, MSgt George B. Collins, of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs office, was testing new 7x50 binoculars in his backyard at 3913 Stratford Lane, Alexandria, Virginia. While looking at the moon he noticed a small object that started moving, stopped, then moved again. He confirmed it was not on the lens by viewing with the naked eye. The object traced a path over approximately seven seconds before fading.
